I’ve been doing a lot of mentoring last week and the question I keep on being asked is if I understand what is happing in the job market. Which I don’t definitively but I do have some hypothesis.

Australia’s user experience (UX) and product design job market has shifted since the hiring boom during COVID-19. In 2020–21, organisations invested heavily in digital products to meet lockdown-driven demand, rapidly expanding design headcount.
