I found myself reflecting on this myself, and landing on a provocative thought. What if the most popular development language 6 years from now isn’t a back and forth between Python and JavaScript, or a “new” language such as Rust, but is something much more radical: English.

Dion Almaer has has a huge influence on modern engineering. Co-founder of Ajaxian, the hugely influential Web 2.0 engineering publication and community, he’s now at Tessl, a company exploring the question of what’s AI native software engineering.

Here he considers the idea advanced elsewhere that it’s English rather than specific programming languages that will become the most widely used programming language.
